Are BPA Free Plastics Safe?

How many moms of toddlers do we have here? With you ladies I wanted to share why I don't use plastic sippy cups for my daughter. As I explained to you before, many plastics contain endocrine disrupting chemicals and they can be especially hard on children!  Here is an alternative you'll want to order today!

You remember we talked about Bisphenol-A or BPA, which has estrogen mimicking properties in the body, but there are so many other chemicals in the plastic that can be just as harmful. Plastic products that are BPA Free are not necessarily safe. Some can still contain harmful chemicals like:

  • Phthalates – linked to immune system suppression and hormone problems (fertility problems in men)
  • BPS and BPF – Bisphenol-S or Bisphenol-F probably have even worse hormone disrupting properties and are often found in BPA Free products
  • Polyvinylchloride – linked to cancer and birth defects

Another important detail is that as a baby matures, so does their swallow pattern, and over-use of hard sippy spouts may get in the way of development. A bottle nipple or hard spout rests over the front third of the tongue, preventing the essential elevation that is necessary for an effective and efficient eater. It can even alter facial development.

That’s why I chose the Munchkin Miracle Stainless Steel 360 Sippy Cup.

This cup keeps liquids cool with a double walled design won't sweat or get your hands cold! Light-weight stainless steel material is extremely durable and its patented 360 rim eliminates spills and supports kids' dental health all at once because drinking from anywhere around the rim, like a regular cup, helps support normal mouth muscle development!
