Homemade Coconut Yogurt

Hi beauties, I promised you all a super easy coconut yogurt recipe. Eating it is a great way to consume probiotics that balance the bacteria in your gut, keeping the bad bacteria under control. I love this recipe because homemade Coconut Yogurt helps you avoid sugar and additives that you will find in even the plain yogurts available in stores!

It also contains healthy saturated fats and medium-chain triglycerides that help to control weight, reduce the risk of atherosclerosis and boost your immune system. These fats are also known to reduce belly fat! Saturated fat has been demonized for years, but certain types are actually good for us. Remember beauties, women need to consume fat to stay pretty, feminine, slim and fertile ;) Some fats can make us slimmer!

Ingredients:

  • 2 – 14oz Cans of additive free coconut milk
  • 2 Probiotic capsules, the same probiotic supplement pills you swallow
  • 2 Teaspoons of Gelatin or Coconut Cream (optional)

If you like your yogurt thick, you can add gelatin or use coconut cream. Gelatin is easier, but is an animal product. To get coconut cream, place a can of coconut milk into the fridge overnight. Some brands, like Alroy D milk, won’t thicken to cream, but other brands from cans will. Once thick, drain water from the cream and transfer to a bowl. Combine one or two cans of milk to one cup creamed milk.

I usually make my yogurt with just two ingredients: coconut milk and probiotic capsules! I warm the milk just slightly, open the capsules and pour the probiotics out. Cover it with a lid and let sit at room temperature overnight, up to 24 hours. It will thicken up after you place it in the fridge. This consistency is perfect for me, I don’t add anything else! My favorite coconut milk is Alroy D because it has only one ingredient – coconut milk! No gums or any other additives. If I want a very thick yogurt or mousse, I use Thai Kitchen coconut milk from a can. For the ultimate yogurt, make your own coconut milk – its even better :)

See? It’s super easy and you get all the benefits of cultured milk without consuming dairy! Perfect for people with insulin resistance like myself. You can make a delicious, sweet treat by adding frozen fruits, coconut butter or a little stevia to it.
