Scientific Reasons You Need a Puppy Right Now

Anyone who owns and loves a dog knows how healing your friend can be. And even though they may love you at least partially because they rely on you to do things like eat, it’s a two-way road when you own a dog. You may keep them alive by feeding and taking care of them, but they are also taking care of you.

Nick is my very first dog who is a little weird, moody and careful but very smart, funny and loving. We actually have two dogs but I wanted to share this funny picture with you. Sorry Cherry, you will be the star next time.

Here are some science-backed reasons you need to get a puppy (right now)

  • They can detect life-threatening health issues
  • Help boost your immune system
  • They help you stay in shape
  • Give you higher self esteem
  • They lower your stress levels
  • They emphasize with human pain
  • Help babies stay healthy by being dirty (ask me about that – haha)
  • Help prevent eczema in kids
  • Heal wounds by kissing you
  • Comfort children with autism
  • Help people with fibromyalgia and dementia

Although they can be annoying and stubborn at times, they are comic relief when you need it, aren’t judgmental, help us feel needed and offer trust and unconditional love. Every dog has a unique personality and each one is a totally new experience. Talk to dog trainers, vets, and other owners to help you find a perfect, furry partner in life.
