Weight Loss: Flax Seed

A study published in the Journal of Nutrition found that Flax Seeds can fight obesity and support weight loss. Since flax is full of healthy fats and fiber, it will help you feel satisfied longer helping you eat fewer calories. Dietary fiber is so important for weight-loss and even just 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed (2 grams of fiber) is enough for you to notice the difference.

The soluble fiber in flaxseed slows digestion and prevents glucose from spiking blood sugar. High blood sugar triggers the release of insulin, which tells the body to stop breaking down stored fat. This means you won’t burn excess fat for energy and will have more difficulty losing weight.

I am a believer that weight loss starts with gut health. The soluble fiber in Flaxseed is fermented by bacteria in the colon which increases good bacteria needed for a healthy gut.
